Members of the USA-1 Corvette Club posing with their cars on the Diamond in Bellefonte. The USA-1 Corvette Club began operation March of 1983. The name, USA-1, was picked for several reasons, not the least of which is the National Championship win that season by PSU football team. It also made it easy to find license plates that fit the club. USA-1 is incorporated in State College under the name of - USA One Corvette Club. Membership in the past few years has been as high as 95.

It was decided unanimously by the founding members that USA-1 should collectively join the National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC). NCCC offered a national insurance program, a standardized competition program and a lot of fun. We quickly became a part of NCCC and have enjoyed the relationship ever since. Our club is recognized by NCCC as ER-111, ironic since the number one is in the club's name! USA-1 is part of the East Region of NCCC, along with 30 other clubs in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

The club also contributes to the local community in many ways. We participate in the Pennsylvania "Adopt A Highway" program. We are in charge of the section of Route 64 one mile on either side of the "Y" in Zion. The program requires the section to be cleaned four times a year. The task is simple and only takes about an hour when all the members help.

Aside from enjoying our cars, we strive to be a good citizen in the Centre Community. Our 2001 campaign netted a $3000 donation to Huntingdon's Disease Society of America and Centre County Law Enforcement's Camp Cadet. While we were unsucessful in getting enough cash to give away the 2001 Impala LS, we did give a grand prize of $10,000.00 to the winner.
